Before You Order: A Compression Garment Checklist
By DirectDermaCare · Updated October 11, 2026
A few checks before checkout can prevent a wrong-style order or an unexpected delivery timeline. Keep your clinician's garment instructions nearby and work through these details on the product page.
1. Match the style number
Compare the manufacturer's style number with the one your practice supplied. Similar names can refer to different closures, garment lengths or coverage. If an older style has changed, contact us to confirm the current product details before substituting another garment.
2. Read the coverage and closure details
Check the neckline, torso coverage, sleeve length and leg length that apply to the style. For facial wraps, compare open-ear or covered-ear designs and the head and neck adjustment. For binders, check the height separately from the circumference size.
3. Open the current size chart
Record the measurements requested by that chart, including the units. Your previous purchase is useful context, but a familiar size label is not a measurement. Raineywear's sizing has changed, and different garment families can use different charts.
4. Confirm every option
Review the selected size, color and style combination. Some body garments have panel or drain-site choices. Smart Fit listings request additional information such as separate waist and hip sizes. Complete those fields before adding the garment to your cart.
5. Allow for dispatch and transit
Raineywear's supplier-listed dispatch is typically 2–3 business days, plus transit, and availability remains subject to supplier confirmation. Other items have different processing times. If you need the order by a particular day, ask us about the product and destination before purchasing. Read our shipping information for details.
6. Check the package quantity and return terms
Review how many items the listing includes. This is especially useful when adding scar sheeting: some shapes on DirectDermaCare are sold as one piece. Before trying on a garment, review the return policy and keep the garment in a condition that meets those terms.
7. Keep the product instructions
Read and keep the manufacturer's care label and instructions when the order arrives. Washing and drying directions can vary between fabrics and fasteners. Do not assume that the instructions for an older garment apply to the new one. Ask your clinical team about wear time and garment changes.
