Recovery Bra Shopping Guide: Coverage, Closures & Sizing
By DirectDermaCare · Updated October 11, 2026
The right product page should help you confirm the bra your practice recommended. Start with the brand and style number, then compare construction details. A product photo can show the overall shape, but the title, option menu and size chart are needed to confirm what you are ordering.
Compare the neckline and coverage
Within Raineywear, WAB is the augmentation bra, WLB is the lower-cut augmentation bra, and WAB-AIS includes adjustable implant stabilizers. These are different product designs. If your clinician requested a stabilizer or a particular neckline, do not assume another bra in the same brand has it.
ContourMD also offers several bra styles. Style 30 is a surgical bra with a wide lower band and adjustable shoulder features. Style 31 has molded cups and a stabilizing band. Read the exact listing and confirm which features your clinical team requires.
Check how the bra opens and adjusts
Look for where the closures sit, whether shoulder straps adjust, and whether the garment includes a separate or integrated band. A closure that is convenient for one person may not match another person's instructions. Product descriptions should identify the construction; your clinician can determine its suitability.
Measure for this brand and style
Use the chart linked to the bra you choose. Do not select solely from your usual sports-bra size. Raineywear has updated its sizing, so returning customers should measure again. A chart for a body garment or another manufacturer's bra is not a substitute for the relevant bra measurements.
If your measurements span different chart sizes, or the option you need falls outside the chart, ask before buying. Send the product link, the measurement names and values, and their units. Our sizing help page gives more detail.
Review the selected options and delivery window
Make sure the size and color in the option menus match your intended order. If the price changes across variants, the cart should reflect the exact combination you selected. Check dispatch time as well as shipping time; a faster carrier service does not eliminate the time the supplier needs to prepare an order.
Plan the first try-on
Read the garment return conditions before opening and trying on your order. DirectDermaCare accepts compression garments after a try-on as long as they are not visibly worn. Your surgical team should provide the wearing instructions for your recovery.
