Which DDC Serum? Compare All Seven Formulas

By DirectDermaCare · Updated October 22, 2026

DirectDermaCare makes seven face serums. Two focus on hydration, three are everyday treatment serums and two contain active ingredients for evening use. A quick way to choose: start with Hyaluronic Acid Serum or Hydration Serum if you want a simple moisture layer; consider Niacinamide Vitamin Boost Serum, Firm Serum or Age Defying Serum for a targeted daily step; and treat Glycolic Acid Serum and Collagen & Retinol Serum as separate decisions with their own precautions.

The comparison below uses each product’s full ingredient list and directions. Ingredient lists do not show concentrations, so they cannot tell you exactly how strong a formula is or how your skin will respond.

Hydration first: Hyaluronic Acid Serum or Hydration Serum

Both are 30 mL, both cost the same and both go on before moisturizer. The difference is the ingredient you are looking for. Hyaluronic Acid Serum contains sodium hyaluronate, the hyaluronic-acid form named in its list. Hydration Serum is a five-ingredient formula built on cassia seed extract and glycerin, and it does not contain hyaluronic acid. Hydration Serum is sold as a one-time purchase only.

Everyday treatment serums

Niacinamide Vitamin Boost Serum combines niacinamide with a vitamin C derivative for a more even-looking complexion. Our Hyaluronic Acid Serum vs. Niacinamide guide compares it in detail with the hydration-first option.

Firm Serum is a fragrance-free peptide serum with two named peptides. It comes in a smaller 20 mL bottle. Choose it when you want a peptide step rather than an exfoliating acid or retinol.

Age Defying Serum uses squalane, glycerin, hydrolyzed soy protein and caffeine for a softer, replenished finish. It also contains lavender oil and soy protein, so review the full list if you avoid either.

Active evening serums need extra care

Glycolic Acid Serum contains glycolic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid. The FDA explains that AHAs can increase sun sensitivity. Use sunscreen, cover exposed skin and limit sun exposure while using it and for one week afterward.

Collagen & Retinol Serum contains retinol and is for evening use. Avoid it during pregnancy; the AAD advises against retinoids during pregnancy.

According to their directions, Glycolic Acid Serum, Collagen & Retinol Serum and Night Renewal Creme should not be layered in the same evening. Start with one active product at a time, and ask your clinician first if you use prescription skin treatments.

Do you need more than one serum?

No. One serum is enough to start, and it makes it easier to judge texture and how your skin responds. Follow any serum with a moisturizer; our DDC moisturizer comparison covers all six options. Use a separate sunscreen during the day.

The one-minute routine finder can suggest an optional serum by goal from Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Niacinamide Vitamin Boost Serum and Firm Serum. It does not require an email address and does not recommend the active evening serums.

Six of the seven serums are eligible for Subscribe & Save at 10% off; Hydration Serum is one-time purchase only. DDC skincare ships free in the U.S., with estimated delivery in 8–14 business days from the date you order.
